Knee osteoarthritis is the leading killer of the leg of elderly, which disability rate can reach 53%. We have

treated 102 cases suggested knee replacement before by Heat sensitive moxibustion and 85 of 102 cases

avoided surgery eventually. However, why the moxa stick has a magic effect? Furthermore, which moxibustion

Case 1: Mr He , male, 56 years old

主诉：右膝关节酸痛、肿胀 3年, 行走不便，下蹲困难，

已被建议做膝关节置换术。

Main complaints: The patient had suffered soreness and swelling of his right

knee joint for 3 years that made it difficult for him to walk and squat. The

patient had been suggested to knee replacement.

诊断：膝关节骨性关节炎。
